Best match replacement of Titanium Dioxide in food products with Sensient Avalanche

Sensient Food Colors pioneered titanium dioxide replacement with natural white opacifier Avalanche

Looking for an alternative Titanium Dioxide solution?

2022 marks the start of the EU ban on using Titanium Dioxide E171 in foods. This long-standing food additive, which gives food a white color, has been banned from use in foods. However for the Belgian market, we are very pleased to be able to offer an ideal substitute which is designed to best match the replacement of Titanium Dioxide. This innovative solution means you can continue to deliver your products without TiO2.

Titanium Dioxide is used as a (white) food colorant (E171) and, like all food colors, it’s technological function is to improve the visual appearance of food, to add color to otherwise colorless food or to restore the original appearance of food. After having examined all relevant available scientific data, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recently concluded that a risk of genotoxicity of TiO2 particles cannot be excluded and on the basis of these concerns, the EFSA no longer consider Titanium Dioxide safe when used as a food additive

We are delighted to offer an innovative solution from our exclusive partner Sensient Food Colors to replace Titanium Dioxide in your foods.
